- The Guardian reports on the U.S.-owned Autolite plant in Mexicali, Baja California, which recently reopened and fired dozens of workers who went on strike in April when no new sanitary measures were introduced despite the pandemic. Workers at other foreign-owned factories in Mexico’s border states – of which there are over 6,000 – are becoming the focus of several coronavirus outbreaks.
